Lawrence County Commissioners Meeting Highlights – October 14, 2025

The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners met on October 14, 2025, at 10:04 a.m. All three commissioners were present: Dr. Colton Copley, DeAnna Holliday, and Mike Finley. Here are the main updates and actions they approved:

Administrative Approvals

  • The commissioners approved the October 7, 2025 meeting minutes, with corrections.
  • A floodplain permit renewal was approved for the Perry Township Trustees for grading, culvert, paving, and maintenance work in township road right-of-way areas.
  • Appropriations and transfers under $75,000 submitted by the County Administrator were approved. (Commissioner Finley abstained from this vote.)

Appointments and Plans

  • Commissioner DeAnna Holliday was named the official voting representative for County Commissioners Association of Ohio (CCAO) membership meetings, with Commissioner Mike Finley as the alternate.
  • The board approved and signed the Prevention, Retention, Contingency Biennial Plan for the Department of Job and Family Services.
  • Michael Gore and Amanda Carte were reappointed to the Lawrence County Developmental Disabilities Board for a four-year term (January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2029).

Executive Sessions and Personnel

  • The commissioners met in executive session with County Administrator Dylan Bentley and Missy Evans to discuss personnel matters, then returned to regular session.
  • Summer Riley was hired as the Whole Child Committee Coordinator.
  • The commissioners also met in executive session with Dylan Bentley and Corey Watson to discuss legal contracts and real estate, then returned to regular session.

Projects and Property Actions

  • The County Administrator was given authority to work with the Prosecutor’s Office and handle required steps for advertising and bidding on the Lawrence County Dome and Storefront Project.
  • An EMS vehicle (VIN 1FDWE3FS2GDC24990) was declared no longer needed by the county and was approved to be donated to the Search and Rescue Team.
  • The commissioners received and filed paperwork submitted by Bill Toole.

The meeting ended after all motions were approved by roll call vote, with one abstention noted.
