Press Release: Rock Hill EMS Station
March 2, 2020
The Lawrence County Commissioners are announcing today that the Rock Hill EMS station is ready to be placed out to bids again. The original estimate for the building was approximately $400,000, but the first bids that were returned came in at nearly $850,000.
In an effort to be good stewards of the public’s funds, it was agreed that the project could not be completed for the amount of the bids, and a decision was made to reject all bids, and re-engineer the project to find cost savings. While the project has taken much longer to begin than anyone wanted, it is important that the new station be built in a fiscally responsible manner to protect the taxpayers’ money. The new plans are now ready to be put out for bids, with the estimate to be around $500,000.
